“Now I’m The Lunatic For Exposing You!”: Jimmy Couture Is Done With The Malaysian Pageantry Scene
Yesterday (15th November), Jimmy Couture expressed his disappointment towards our Miss Grand Malaysia 2021, Lishalliny Kanaran, when his evening gown designs were rejected. He dragged the beauty pageant queen along with her management team on his Instagram account because of their selfish act.
Lishalliny Kanaran, or better known as Lisha, uploaded a video explaining her side of the story not long after Jimmy posted the screenshots. Netizens were divided whether to sympathise with the renowned designer on his wasted effort or the beauty queen who will be representing Malaysia for the final round of Miss Grand in Thailand soon.
In one of his Instagram stories last night, Jimmy ranted on about how he wanted to quit Malaysia’s pageant industry but didn’t because of the encouragement from the pageant world fans (PL/Pageant Lovers). It was sad to see him being called a lunatic for losing his temper after his gown design was rejected. He also sadly stated at the end of his rant, “I will probably lend a hand to pageant queens who are actually sincere. But I will not support the industry anymore.”
The next day, he proceeded to express his dissatisfaction towards Lisha’s explanation video. He seemed confused by Lisha’s statement in her video. Why request another evening gown if she already had her own personal designer?
Despite the hate from several parties, Jimmy still has friends and fans who support him. Under one of his posts, we can see comments appreciating him: “Thank you Jimmy for helping the queens previously, including our team’s”, and another comment complimenting him on his designs, “All of your evening gown designs are full of charisma and maturity. It’s a waste that some people in the pageant industry can’t seem to appreciate your kindness. Keep up the great ideas and hard work.”
Some comments also supported him and gave him words of encouragement, “Hi Jimmy. Stay strong and positive from what happened. Please don’t stop designing gorgeous and sexy dresses just because of one person who doesn’t know how to appreciate your hard work and talent, okay? We’re all big fans of you ❤️ keep on designing, man!”
On the other hand, it looks like Lishalliny is not bothered by the ongoing drama, as evidenced by her Instagram stories. It seems that she is trying to keep her head in the game for the preliminary and final round in Thailand. She was seen donning a beautiful mustard Kebaya-like costume at the airport earlier today.
We didn’t expect Jimmy to quit the Malaysian pageantry scene but then again, can you blame him?
