Jay Chou’s Son Romeo Steals The Spotlight In His Latest MV
Taiwanese singer-song writer Jay Chou (周杰倫) has been intent on making 2022 his year. The singer not only gained a new daughter, he also released a new album, making fans very happy. However, his most recent endeavour may have just endeared himself even more to his fans.
Jay Chou recently released his latest music video (MV) “Pink Ocean (粉色海洋)” on 15th August. The video has since gained over 2 million views. However, this may have been helped by the star of the MV. Jay Chou’s son, Romeo, who has been living up to his namesake and is wooing viewers everywhere with his adorableness.
“Pink Ocean” showcases Chou’s artistic skills while Romeo gets to model for the camera, and he definitely does a great job for a five-year-old! This is also notably Romeo’s first time participating in his dad’s work. He remained remarkably calm and seemed very comfortable in front of the camera. Although, we’re certain Jay Chou had a hand in ensuring his son’s comfort during the shoot.
Romeo’s performance delighted many, including his fellow artists. Apparently, some even teasingly asked if this MV was Romeo’s debut. “(Romeo) is still young so he will (choose) his own interests in the future,” Jay Chou reportedly replied. “This MV (reflects) him (and as) children grow up quickly, I wanted to record how cute he is! (So), I think it’s a good idea to have Romeo appear in my MV! And this MV is a perfect opportunity.”
Netizens too are loving Romeo’s part in the video. Several have commented on how handsome he is, while others have cooed over his cuteness. A few even joked that Jay Chou was no longer the star of the video. Even Jay Chou’s wife, Hannah commented: “Romeo steals the show!”
Well, fans are hoping Romeo’s involvement doesn’t stop there. Several have requested to see Romeo perform in future music videos. A few have even asked if the boy wonder will be performing in Chou’s concerts from now on.
Chou has made no promises. But it certainly is a delight to see his family being featured in his music. Who knows, perhaps one day we may actually get to see Romeo and his siblings on stage with their dad!
