Brian Cox Thinks Logan Roy’s Death on Succession Came Too Soon In The Final Season

Brian Cox is opening up about Logan Roy’s death on Succession, and admitted that he thinks it was done too soon.

The 76-year-old actor was speaking to BBC News‘ Amol Rajan (via THR) and got candid about his character’s demise on the show.

Brian shared that Logan’s passing happened in a “pretty brilliant way”, when it did, he felt rejected over it.

“I was fine with it ultimately, but I did feel a little bit rejected,” he says. “You know, I felt a little bit, oh, all the work I’ve done and finally I’m going to, you know, end up as an ear on a carpet of a plane.”

Series creator Jesse Armstrong revealed on the Succession podcast that he chose an early episode for a reason.

“He was always going to die. It felt like that had to happen,” Jesse shared. “That was always coded into it once we decided it was going to be the final season. Occasionally, when I was going crazy about what the end would be I would think, most tragedies end with the death at the end and we go back and look at that as a shape. But it really was this feeling of wanting to see how they would cope afterwards that was the prevailing one.”

If you missed it, Brian recently opened up about how he threw everyone off by showing up to Logan’s funeral.
