Former NCT’s Taeil Makes First Public Appearance In Nearly 10 Months For Sex Crime Trial

In August 2024, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil would no longer be a member of NCT due to being charged with then-unspecified sex crime later revealed to be the rape of a foreign woman.

In the immediate aftermath, many shared shock over the idol’s alleged crime, including information that he had ignored police summons and continued activities.
The former idol’s last public appearance was on August 28, 2024, during the group’s fan meeting.

Since then, the idol has only made one alleged appearance, when he was supposedly spotted drinking with friends before the original date of his trial.
On June 18, the rescheduled trial date, multiple media organizations shared media of Taeil’s while at court. Photos showed the former idol dressed in all black and wearing a white face mask.



Taeil and two others involved admitted guilt in the case, leading prosecutors to demand a seven year prison sentence for each.
