Father of five remanded four days for attacking teen daughter in Alor Gajah

ALOR GAJAH: A father of five has been remanded for four days at a Magistrate’s Court here after allegedly attacking his teenage daughter simply because she was late in reheating a meal for her mother.

The remand order, until Aug 25, was issued by Magistrate Dr Teoh Shu Yee against the 40-year-old suspect to assist investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code.

On Thursday (August 21), the media reported that the 17-year-old victim suffered injuries after she was believed to have been struck with a plastic chair and slapped across the face by her father.

The incident took place at about 4.20pm on Tuesday (Aug 19) while the victim, the second of five siblings, was completing her schoolwork at their home in Kampung Panchor, here.

Her father had instructed her to warm up food to be sent to her mother, who was at work.

When the teenager delayed the task and threw down her pen in protest, the suspect allegedly lost his temper.

The suspect was accused of slapping her, leaving her with a swollen cheek and cut lip, before hurling a plastic chair that struck her body.

He then allegedly smashed another chair against her back and left shoulder, leaving her arm in pain.
