Photo Taken By A Malaysian Highlighted On Apple’s Official Instagram
Apple recently shared a photograph of a sunrise taken at a Terengganu beach on its official Instagram account.
Did you know that that amazing photo was actually taken by a Malaysian policeman, Azmeer Iskandar? The post, which was shared with the caption “Right place, right time”, has since received over 400,000 likes on the company’s official Instagram account.
Malaysians, of course, were quick to react positively to the post by expressing their pride seeing Terengganu being showcased on the account, which has more than 21 million followers.
According to The Star, the 28-year-old, who is based in Terengganu, said that he shot the image with an iPhone XR.
He added that he later received a notification from Apple, but he ignored it because he wanted to sleep. When he woke up, he was surprised that his photo was shared by Apple and now had nearly half a million likes.
The photo was taken at a beach in Rusila Marang and was uploaded on his Instagram account back in August 2019. Azmeer recalled asking his friends to join him for a walk along the beach to take photos at dawn, since they live just 10 minutes away.
This is actually the second time that Apple has featured a photo from Malaysia on their Instagram account. The first photo was taken by a 20-year-old student, Dinie Aiman Sukhaizar of a paddy field in Perlis.
Azmeer, who was born in Kuala Lumpur, has spent eight years in Terengganu where he is stationed and added that he hopes the photo on Apple Instagram page would inspire more people to visit Malaysia.
He currently has over 40,000 followers on his personal Instagram account where he shares beautiful shots of his travels and daily life.
Malaysia has such beautiful places that we don’t even know existed!
