Final ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ trailer brings new and old friends together

“Long have I waited. And now… your coming together, is your undoing.” So says the presumed dead Emperor Palpatine says in the final Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker trailer.

And long have we waited for this final movie in the Skywalker saga, in which we finally see if the Resistance wins its final battle against the First Order, and Rey and Kylo Ren’s fates.

This particular trailer reveals quite a bit more than the previous ones, from lightsaber battles to spaceship armies amassing, to glimpses of Lando, Leia, and  a very ominous-looking throne.

The most heart-wrenching part of the trailer? When C-3P0 says, ‘taking one last look, sir… at my friends”. Does it foreshadow the demise of yet another beloved ‘Legacy character’? One thing is for sure, as hard as it will be for us to say goodbye to this particular era of Star Wars, we can’t wait to watch it end.
