Fans Drool Over Kumail Nanjiani’s Body Transformation For Marvel

Marvel actors and actresses have a pretty good track record when it comes to body transformation; comedian Kumail Nanjiani is no exception.

The Pakistani, who is famous for his role in shows like “Silicon Valley”, is part of the cast in the upcoming Marvel film “The Eternals”, where he plays Kingo. In celebration for landing the massive role, the actor decided to spent the last 12 months in training in order to look like his comic book counterpart, and boy did he deliver.

I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time. So big thanks to @grantrobertsfit who started working with me at the beginning of the year and made me understand true physical pain for months and months. Then, once we started shooting, a massive thanks to @davidhigginslondon and his team (@ellispartridge, @thebeardypt, @tomcheesemanfitness) for training me almost every day and making me strong, limber and injury free. I can almost touch my toes now. (And thank you for forcing me to do cheat meals David.) Matthews Street Catering for their delicious and healthy meals. And finally, the biggest thanks goes to @emilyvgordon for putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting for the last year. I promise I’ll be interesting again some day. #thirstyshirtless (Photo by @markupson.) (edit: I left off one very important person: @lancecallahan who trained me for 6 years and helped me build the foundation I could use to do this. Thank you!)

Taking to his Instagram account, the 41 year-old uploaded a photo of what he describes as “a thirsty shirtless” photo of himself, that showed the transformation of his dad bod to a muscular six pack. In the post, he recollected his desire for the visible change and noted that he wouldn’t have done it without the help of multiple trainers and nutritionists.

He wrote, “I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.

“The Big Sick” actor also reserved special mention for trainer Grant Roberts who helped him on his journey. Others trainers that he thanked were David Higgins and his team Ellis Partridge, Tom Cheeseman and Gavin Eivers as well as Lance Callahan. However, Nanjiani’s biggest thanks went to his wife, Emily V Gordon, for putting up with his complaints and his talks about workout routines.

While many Marvel fans were pretty anxious about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after the departure of Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans. Nanjiani and his fellow Marvel actor Simu Liu seem to have the MCU covered, with Liu set to play Shang-Chi in the upcoming film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.

We can’t wait to see the two actors in action in the big screen with “The Eternals” set to come out in 6th November 2020, while “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” will premier on 11th February 2021.
