Kayee Tam and Kenneth Ma Duet in Cantonese Version of “Can You Hear”

Since Kayee Tam’s (譚嘉儀) English language single “Can You Hear” was named as one of 2019 Hong Kong most popular songs, Kayee also recorded a Cantonese duet version with Kenneth Ma (馬國明). After five months, the music video starring the two artistes is finally released.

While many fans commented that Kenneth’s vocals are average, attention is focused on their intimate scenes. Kayee shared, “Since July, many people asked when I will release it. In my upcoming album, this song is will be included. I don’t dare to watch the music video though, because filming it was awkward. I had to kiss him and it was the director’s last minute addition. Before the filming, I was completely unaware.”

Describing the music video, Kayee said, “It has a big production because we were on a bed and then kissed. We needed to act like a natural couple. I was very shy while filming. My face turned red and my heart sped up 100 times faster.”

As her song has been hailed as one of the most popular song in 2019, Kayee is grateful for fan’s support, “Very happy. I really didn’t think I would make it to the list. I’m very grateful for everyone who clicked on the music video. I don’t dare to think about winning [the 2019 Jade Solid Gold Most Popular Song Award]. I have been lucky to encounter so many good songs. That is the most important. Having fans tell me they like my songs is enough.”

Kayee also hopes that Kenneth will win this year’s Best Actor Award, “I want Kenneth to win Best Actor. I have complete confidence in him. I think he is a good person, handsome, and he is good at acting. Now that he is even singing, I hope he can quickly debut as a singer.”
