PDRM: Driver Who Killed Puchong Snatch Thief May Face 10 Years in Jail If Charged

Crime doesn’t pay, that much we know to be true. Karma, like a boomerang, hits hard when it swings back. So as you can expect, a recent story of how a snatch thief who was killed shortly after stealing a man’s gold chain from him in his car wound up being struck and killed by his victim proves that point.

The snatch thief was killed shortly after robbing a 44 year old man in Bandar Puteri, Puchong in an incident that happened on 6.42 pm last Sunday (29th December 2019), in a report by Harian Metro.

After snatching the victim’s gold necklace, he went against the flow of traffic and stopped suddenly in the middle of the road when the victim was chasing him, leading both to collide. As a result, the snatch thief wound up being pinned underneath the victim’s BMW when he was run over.

Despite the victim of the snatch theft incident calling emergency services, the snatch thief was pronounced dead at the hospital. Again, crime doesn’t pay, right?

But despite the fact that the victim here is the driver of the BMW who got his gold chain stolen from him and he was retaliating in defence to the theft, the Malaysian police are apparently looking into charging the driver for causing death due to reckless driving, as reported by Malaysiakini.

According to the Serdang district police chief Ismadi Borhan, the matter is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code (robbery) and Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (causing death by reckless or dangerous driving).

If convicted, the driver of the BMW could face jail time of two to ten years. All for trying to get back what was rightfully his own.

Do you guys think justice has been served correctly in this case?
