Diddy Explains Why He Stopped Lizzo’s Twerking During His Dance-A-Thon
On Sunday, Diddy hosted his dance-a-thon with his family in an effort to help raise money for healthcare workers and organizations. He was joined by a group of his celebrity friends that tapped into his Instagram Live and danced it up for a good cause.
One celebrity that joined the live was Lizzo who brought some great energy as she danced it up with the Combs family.
However, when Lizzo started to get her twerk on, Diddy pumped the breaks as she began to twerk to Moneybagg Yo’s single “1,2,3” featuring Blac Youngsta. He said, “Stop the music. It’s Easter Sunday—let’s play something a little bit family-friendly.” Lizzo then suggested that he plays her hit single “Juice.”
As the dance-a-thon continued, fans noticed that Diddy didn’t bring a stop to Draya Michele’s twerk as she danced to Juvenile’s hit song “Back That Azz Up.” So they started to question why was Draya able to twerk on his live and not Lizzo?
Following the dance-a-thon, Diddy addressed the situation and said, “Here’s one thing that I want to make clear—my queen, my sister Lizzo. When I stopped the music, it’s because it had a lot of curses in there. Not because she was twerking. She’s one of the best twerkers in the world, ok, so let’s keep that clear. It wasn’t about twerking. You’re allowed to twerk on Easter.”
“It was a lot of cursing in the record and I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand,” he said.
