Former CLC Member Sorn Shares That A Fellow Thai K-Pop Idol Inspired Her, Here’s Who It Was

Former CLC member Sorn recently talked about her inspiration behind wanting to become a K-Pop idol!

Sorn recently made her first solo comeback under her new agency after leaving CLC and CUBE Entertainment in November 2021, and also sat down for an interview to talk about her new journey as an artist!

In the interview, she talks about her struggles as a foreign idol trying to make it in K-Pop, and fondly mentioned her fellow Thai K-Pop idols as her very important support system through her trials, naming (G)I-DLE‘s Minnie as her closest friend!

It’s a blessing to have them around me. We deeply understand each other and frequently hang out together. In fact, many of us have known each other since we were idol trainees or even before that.

(G)I-DLE’s Minnie, in particular, is like my younger sister.

All the Thai idols in the K-Pop industry have often spoken about how close they are to each other, such as having their own group chat, and showing up to support each other in their activities!

Sorn then revealed that she was inspired to become a K-Pop idol after seeing all the love 2PM member Nichkhun received from his Thai fans, even being dubbed the “Thai Prince” because of his handsome visuals and charming personality!

She shared how she came to Korea at 15, hoping to be given the nickname “Thai Princess”, and while she found the road to begin a K-Pop idol extremely difficult, she did not give up, eventually making her debut with CLC!

I was young and I thought I could be the ‘Thai Princess’. So I decided to go to Korea, telling my parents that I would be fine and that I would be able to take care of myself.

But I did not expect the training to be that difficult. Only a few weeks later, I called my parents and told them I did not want to stay here anymore because everything was so hard.

But as time went by, I gradually learned that not everyone is given this opportunity to become a K-pop star. So I decided to stop crying and change my mindset.
