Eddie Redmayne & Jessie Buckley’s ‘Cabaret’ Wins Big at Olivier Awards Which Kicked Off With A Will Smith Oscar Slap Joke

Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley show off their awards after winning big at the 2022 Olivier Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday (April 10) in London, England.

The two stars picked up the Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical honors for their roles in Cabaret.

Their co-stars, Elliot Levey and Liza Sadovy also won the Best Supporting awards, and Rebecca Frecknall, picked up Best Director!

 

Tom FeltonLily Allen and David HarbourKit HaringtonHannah Waddingham, and Cush Jumbo were also at the show, which kicked off with an Oscar Slap joke by host Jason Manford.

“I’m a comedian,” he said in his opening monologue, “and I think all your hair looks lovely and I will very much be keeping your wives names out of my mouth this evening. This is an evening of backslapping, not face slapping.”
