Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Has Been Sentenced to Probation
Nicki Minaj‘s husband Kenneth Petty has been officially sentenced during a hearing this week in Los Angeles.
Kenneth pleaded guilty back in September in failing to register as a sex offender and was facing 10 years in prison for it.
After multiple postponements of his sentence hearing, Kenneth was sentenced to probation and in-home detention.
He was also ordered to pay a $55,000 fine, People reports.
Kenneth was convicted back in 1995 of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl and spent over four years in prison. In New York, he is registered as a level two offender, which means he’s considered a “moderate risk of repeat offense.”
Kenneth was arrested in March 2020 after being indicted for failure to register as a sex offender when he moved to California. At the time, he pleaded not guilty and posted $100,000 bail.
Kenneth previously got pulled over by Beverly Hills police back in November 2019, who discovered he was a registered sex offender in New York, but had not registered in California. He was arrested, released on a $20,000 bond, and charged for failing to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors were looking for a harsher sentence for Kenneth.
