Nicola Peltz’s Family Fires Back at Former Wedding Planners in New Court Filing, Source Explains the Lawsuit

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham‘s wedding is continuing to make headlines following the latest update in the lawsuit between her father Nelson Peltz and their fired wedding planners.

In case you’re not up to speed, the Peltz family fired their wedding planners, Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba, weeks before the wedding due to mistakes that were allegedly made leading up to the big day. The family filed a lawsuit demanding their $159,000 deposit be returned.

The wedding planners, who form the company Plan Design Events, filed a counter-lawsuit against the family, citing breach of contract. Nicola and her mother Claudia were named as third parties in the counter-suit.

Now, the Peltz family’s lawyers are responding to that lawsuit.

The lawyers state that Nicola and Claudia should be removed from the lawsuit as they were not involved in the original contact.

“Aware that its claim is frivolous, PDE shamefully attempts to falsely portray Nicola in an extremely negative light to entice the media and hopefully pressure Mr. Peltz to dismiss his well-founded claims against PDE. While this was tailor-made for the tabloids, it could not be further from the truth,” the lawyers state in the new filing (via People).

A source close to the Peltz family is explaining why Nelson is suing.

The source told People, “Nelson is not a litigious man, he has not sued anyone in 15 years but when it comes to his daughter, he will protect her always. He is a loving father who engaged in an alleged agreement with a group that couldn’t live up to the experience they sold him – despite the issues, they were able to pull off a once-in-a-lifetime wedding for his daughter.”
