Prince Albert’s Eldest Son, Alexandre Grimaldi, Opens Up About His Royal Father in Rare Interview

Prince Albert‘s eldest son, Alexandre Grimaldi, is speaking out about his royal dad in a very rare interview.

The 19-year-old model, who is the son of Albert and his former girlfriend Nicole Coste, spoke with French magazine, Point de Vue, and opened up about his connection to the royal family of Monaco through his father, and his relationship with one of his siblings.

Alexandre has said that he wouldn’t back down if someone still questioned if he was truly the son of Albert, who recognized him as such before his marriage to Princess Charlene.

“My mother is tender by nature and let a lot of things be said because she was always advised to ‘let the story go,’” he shared. “Me, I will be more procedural because I was born in France, but I grew up in an Anglo-Saxon country. I’ll attack if necessary.”

He also wanted many to know that they can stop calling him illegitimate, because neither of his parents “committed adultery”.

“I hope no one believes the lies conveyed on the internet,” he said. “One bears the name of one’s father when one has been recognized since birth. I had voluntary recognition from my father when I was a baby. Not from a judge or the press who have forced him to.”

Alexandre also spoke of his relationship with half-sister, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, who is an actress. She is Albert‘s eldest child with Tamara Rotolo.

“We have a good relationship despite the fact that we live in distant countries,” he stated.

Neither Alexandre or Jazmin are in the official line of succession, because Monaco does not recognize children that were born outside of wedlock for the throne. Their younger sibling, 8-year-old Jacques, is the heir to the throne.

Jacques and his twin sister, Gabrielle, are the children of Albert and Charlene. Just recently, Charlene was seen on a rare public outing.
