“I Really Want To Jump Into The River!” Fish Leong On Her Out-Of-Tune Performance That Made Her The Butt Of Tone-Deaf Jokes

“This shows she is really singing!” say supporters of the Malaysian singer Fish Leong, 45.

Her recent concert in Harbin, China drew quite a reaction from concertgoers. During a rendition of the song ‘Swallowtail Butterfly’, Fish sounded out of breath for most of it, her voice even breaking during the chorus.

Take a listen here:

Videos of her shaky performance quickly went viral and even became a trending topic on Weibo which saw netizens flaming up the comments section.

One such netizen wrote: “She sounded so miserable, as if she was about to die,” and another wondering how Fish found the courage to stand on stage.

However, Fish’s ardent fans have come to her defense, saying that many great singers such as Jacky Cheung and Wang Feng have showcased less than stellar vocals before without the same negative backlash and that there is no need to be so hateful towards a female singer.

Fish has since responded to the boo-boo with a post on Instagram expressing her embarrassment and wishing how she “really wants to jump into the river”. She also promised to do better next time and that she would recover and practice more before thanking everyone for their concern.

Fish, here is to your next stunning performance.
