During a recent episode of SBS‘s Whenever Possible, Sana took a nostalgic look down memory lane, talking about her early days in Korea as a trainee. At just 17, she had left her home in Osaka, Japan, to pursue her dream of becoming an idol in Korea. But the idol revealed that homesickness and the harsh trainee life made her want to give it all up and run back home.

When I was young, I once thought about sneaking back home in the middle of the night. I even thought about how I could take my suitcase and leave without making a sound.

However, a technical problem prevented Sana from executing the voyage back to Japan. “My passport was at the company,” she recalled, laughing.

I had to sneak into the company building to get it, which was realistically impossible.

At that time, I had planned to go back with Momo,” Sana added with a grin.

While Sana looked back at this incident with humor and nostalgia, it also highlighted the hardships trainees have to endure at such a young age. Still, it was fortunate that their plan didn’t go as intended, giving TWICE the most versatile 9-member lineup!
