Police in Tawau investigate colleague molestation claims
KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating allegations by two women that they were molested by a male colleague in Sabah’s east coast district of Tawau.
The women and the alleged perpetrator work in a federal department in the nearby Lahad Datu district.
Tawau police chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin stated the incidents reportedly occurred after the women visited an entertainment outlet in Tawau on Sept 7.
The women, aged 21 and 25, filed their reports on Friday (Oct 11) at 5.59pm and 6.34pm.
“In their reports, they claimed the man, a colleague, molested them at an entertainment centre and again in the car,” said ACP Jasmin when contacted on Saturday (Oct 12).
“We have opened an investigation under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty,” he added.
ACP Jasmin confirmed they have identified the suspect and will bring him in for questioning soon.
