Stephen Chow Denies New Romance After Getting Photographed Hanging Out with Miss Hong Kong Hopeful Ukei Cheung

Hong Kong media recently broke the news that renowned filmmaker and actor Stephen Chow whose last known relationship was his ex Alice Yu in 2010, may have a new woman in his life. The woman in question is reported to be Ukei Cheung whom the actor was spotted hanging out with whilst on a fun day out at sea. The 17-year-old student and internet celebrity had tried out for the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2021 but did not make the cut. When asked to confirm the relationship, Stephen’s camp denied the rumours saying they “didn’t even know each other that well”.

From media reports, the way the pair sat side by side at the back of the yacht and whispered to each other from time to time hinted at a possible romantic relationship. Moreover, a “close source” claimed that it was 59-year old Stephen who actually made the first move to strike up a conversation with Ukei Cheung the first time they met at a party and invited her out to go sailing. The source also added that dating Stephen Chow came with its own set of “rules”. For example, Stephen would only use WeChat to call her so as not to leave any chat records. Supposedly, the actor would also remind her that he cannot be photographed nor can his voice be recorded whenever they meet.

When the topic of Stephen’s love life started trending on social media, his assistant Chris responded to enquiries from the media saying “Stephen Chow and the girl are mere acquaintances and that day on the boat, there was also a big group of other people on board. Two days ago, that girl took it upon herself to approach Xing Ye (Stephen’s nickname) to go surfing, but Xing Ye did not acknowledge her and didn’t reply. They aren’t close. It’s just a group of people out at sea for a bit of R&R, I don’t know how things could’ve snowballed into what’s being written in the media.
