Jodie Comer Receives Best Performer Award for ‘Prima Facie’ Ahead of Broadway Run

Jodie Comer won rave reviews for her performance in the West End play Prima Facie last year and she just received a major award ahead of the show’s Broadway run!

The 29-year-old actress accepted the award for Best Performer in a Play at the 2023 WhatsOnStage Awards on Sunday (February 12) at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London, England.

Prima Facie also won the award for Best New Play.

If you missed the play in London, you’ll have another chance to see it when it premieres on Broadway on April 11. The limited run will end on June 18.

Here is the play’s synopsis: “Tessa is a thoroughbred. A young, brilliant barrister who loves to win. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and lighting up the shadows of doubt in any case. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.”

FYI: Jodie is wearing a 16Arlington dress, Wolford tights, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Jessica McCormack jewelry.
