Have you ever wondered how to become a successful student? Here are some tips to let you pass with flying colour in exam!

Many people think that a good or successful students is one who studies diligently and gets good grades in examinations. However, a good students not only able to juggle his studies and social life, but always get self-motivated and have a positive attitudes.

1. Organise a timetable

Timetable helps you to juggle your time between study and play. It can help you to manage your time effectively and plan you activities for study and relaxation. Take part in co-curricular activities which help you to relax.

2. Study consistently

Make a habit of study 5-6 hours a day, do not study at the eleventh hours. Start to do revision a week before exam. Do emphasis on the subject that you are weak in. Do a lot of pass year questions and homework given by teachers

3. Pay attention in class

Sitting in front of class will reduce distraction and help you to focus on the lessons. Do not hesitate to ask question when you do not understand. Stay back after class and consult your teacher when you encounter problem.

4. Do not procrastinate

Procrastination is the thief of time. Complete your homework on time and never wait until the last day before submission. Procrastination has a way of pilling up, when you realised you have a lot of work haven’t done, you will feel stress and frustrated.

5. Make short notes or mind maps

Do short notes and mind maps enable you to understand a topic of subject more easily and help you to memorise all the facts. Beautiful notes can motivate you to study more harder. Try to use high lighter to highlight all the important points.

6. Form study groups

You can do group discussion with your friend in library and this can help to grasp information more easily. It will be fun to discuss past year question and do revisions with your friends.

7. Have a good study life balance  

Have enough rest, sleep and exercise. This can help to concentrate better in studies after a good rest. Have balanced diet and drink 8 glasses of water everyday. Do not indulge yourself in high calories food as it can lead to diabetes. As a saying goes, “all woels no play makes Jack a dull boy”.

8. Always self-motivated

Set a realistic goal to yourself. Do not easily give up if you do not do well in exam. Learn all the mistakes that you have done before. Jot down all the mistakes in a book and refer them from time to time.
